The Grammar of Ornament by Owen Jones
The first six volumes of the collection dedicated to The Grammar of Ornament by Owen Jones are completed and ready to ship.
The first part of this monumental collection of vector graphics includes six periods of the history of decoration:
#501 - Vol. 1 - Ornament of Savage Tribes*
#502 - Vol. 2 - Egyptian Ornament
#503 - Vol. 3 - Assyrian and Persian Ornament
#504 - Vol. 4 - Greek Ornament
#505 - Vol. 5 - Pompeian Ornament
#506 - Vol. 6 - Byzantine Ornament

There are a total of 3127 graphic files in the EPS format; this number include all the parts of each design that we developed based on the original images (borders, corners, dividers end tiles, side tiles, etc..
And it is just the beginning, we started already since last June the drawing of other plates; the next block to be published is dedicated to Arabian, Turkish, Moresque and Persian Ornament.
I believe that when this work is completed it will be the largest existing structured collection of historic decorative graphics elements in vector format and all entirely hand drawn.
We tested some of the graphics in 3d software; we applied some of the images as skins and textures in recreated architectural interiors and exteriors. Decorative borders, walls and floor tiles were looking incredible real and vivid. For a little while this studio resembled one of those Hollywood special effects studio. Then we went back to work.

Jones was obviously a true Victorian fellow and his sensibility was as expected. We do not share his sense that inhabitants of the Pacific Islands should be tagged as “Savage Tribes” and definitely no others.

Walter Crane
The Faerie Queene
The collection dedicated to Walter Crane’s “The Faerie Queene” has been a big success and in so short time has became our best seller; only Illuminated Manuscripts Vol.3 surpasses the number of copies sold (but it has been available for almost three years).
